Benchmarks
The University of Houston is a member of AASHE- Association of Advancement for Sustainability in Higher Education. The association allows the university to grow and build future benchmarks through information sharing and AASHE-STARS.

Research
Conducting research is a major function of the University of Houston. By researching sustainability issues, the University can continue to help the world understand sustainability challenges and develop new technologies, strategies, and approaches to address those challenges.

Governance & Policy
The Sustainability Task Force serves as the shared governance task force charged with advising the university administration on green initiatives. The Task Force is comprised of students, faculty, staff and administration.
