NEW DINING FACILITY TO BE NAMED COUGAR WOODS DINING HALL
It’s official. By popular vote, the new
dining hall on the corner of Wheeler and Cullen will be
named Cougar Woods Dining Hall.
Students, faculty, staff and friends of the University
of Houston voted Aug. 27-31 for their favorite of three
finalist names. Cougar Woods, The Roar and West End were
the top three choices from the hundreds of names
submitted by the UH community during the Spring 2012
semester.
The votes were tallied from both Facebook and Survey
Monkey, and Cougar Woods held a strong lead with 49
percent. Beth Owens Woods submitted the winning name
idea. She will receive a bicycle and a plaque
commemorating her name choice in the new dining hall as
a reward.
The new facility will open Monday, Oct. 1 at 7 a.m.
