Thanks to ever-rising enrollment figures and a growing selection of courses and academic programs, more students than ever are making their way to Wharton County Junior College and UH Sugar Land. This growth is occurring while sharing the same campus, along with other groups, such as the Sugar Land Branch Library and park and ride commuters.

It's important that the parking spaces available across the 375-acre campus are managed to ensure that everyone is accommodated.

Therefore, Parking and Transportation Services will be releasing permits throughout the 2017-2018 academic year, to the following groups, in an effort to get an accurate view of who's using what spaces when.sugar land timeline

  • UH Faculty/Staff
  • UH Students
  • UH Vendors
  • Wharton County Junior College Students
  • Wharton County Junior College Faculty/Staff
  • Library partners
  • Park and Ride guests

It's important to note that these permits will be issued at no cost to drivers.

We have begun issuing permits to UH Sugar Land faculty, staff and students through several tabling events. Please bring your Cougar Card by the Campus Services room in the George Building to pick up a permit by Friday, October 27 at 5 p.m. Their hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

To save time, print and fill out this form ahead of time and bring it with you to pick up your permit.

It's in the best interest of everyone parking at UH Sugar Land to properly display their permit at all times when on the premises, as the Parking and Transportation Services Department will be using the data collected this year to formulate the structure of the parking program going forward.

The master plan for the University projects have permitted parking at UH Sugar Land starting during the 2018-2019 school year.
