TxDOT is in the middle of a large, multi-phase project on the northbound side of I-45. As the city works to move this project along, various roads near the University of Houston will be impacted in some way. I-45 Direct Connector Project Timeline

As a result of PHASE 1 of TxDOT's I-45 Northbound Direct Connector Project, the fully elevated portion of Spur 5 northbound between the University and the downtown destinations exits will be close beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017. This area is expected to remain closed for seven to nine months.
The Parking and Transportation Services team knows this closure will impact a number of UH students, faculty, staff and visitors, so we have outlined a few alternate routes and ways to get to some popular destinations in the area. Click the links below to view detour maps.
