Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few weeks, you are probably aware that, in less than two weeks, our great city will be hosting Super Bowl LI.
Although the matchup between the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5 at NRG Stadium, there are lots of other events and activities taking place in the next few days, including a few on our very campus, that may impact parking and traffic in the area as Houston enters the national spotlight.
See a full list of Super Bowl events around the city; however, below are a few items to keep in mind that may directly impact traffic and potentially parking in and around campus parking lots, garages and streets.
- Summit on Sports Media - Tuesday, Jan. 31; 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
- Patriots practice at TDECU Stadium - TBD
- Taste of the NFL – Saturday, Feb. 4; 7 p.m.
Specific impacts have not yet been identified, but each one is expected to draw lots of attention and many visitors to our campus.
We will continue to post updates as we get them, so keep a close eye on all of our social media accounts, as well as our Traffic and Parking alerts page.
For tips and tricks on how to navigate Houston-area street closures, as well as get information on shuttles, parking options and more around town during the next two weeks, please consult the Houston Super Bowl Transportation Guide, developed by the Toyota Center.
