Daily Meal Ranks UH Among Top Colleges for Food

For the third consecutive year, the University of Houston has been ranked among the best schools for food by a national online publication.

The Daily Meal’s list of the Top 80 Colleges for Food in America places UH at No. 49.

Out of 2,000 schools nationwide, the Daily Meal narrowed down the list to 80 by scoring each of them on four criteria: accessibility and service, education and events, the availability of food in the area surrounding campus, and “the X factor” – what it called the little extras that made their jaws drop.

“A greater attention to feedback, advances in technology, an emphasis on healthy options, and environmental awareness have all taken a front row seat at campuses across the country, so prospective college students and their parents have a lot to be excited about in 2016 — even compared to 2015,” the Daily Meal wrote.

Southern Methodist University, which is ranked 68th, is the only other school from Texas to make the list.
