'Miranda Sings' Tour Coming to UH

Miranda SingsAward-winning comedian, actress and singer Colleen Ballinger is bringing her “Miranda Sings Live … You’re Welcome” tour to the University of Houston.

The show is set for Sunday, Jan. 22, at 8 p.m. at Cullen Performance Hall. Tickets are on sale now and are available through Ticketmaster’s website or by phone at 800-745-3000.

Ballinger is most famous for her Miranda Sings character, which has become an international phenomenon through her YouTube channel that has amassed nearly seven million devoted subscribers and over a billion news.

The tour will offer Ballinger’s signature blend of live comedy and singing, both as herself and Miranda. Audiences can expect a fast-paced, 80-minute show.

The Miranda character is known for her overdrawn red lips, questionable advice about singing and life, a deluded self-confidence, and over-the-top rants about her family and personal problems. She has appeared on Jerry Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” and “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” As herself, Ballinger has been a guest co-host on “The View.” She has a New York Times No. 1 best-selling book, “Self Help,” and has co-created a Netflix original series “Haters Back Off!” that features her Miranda character.
