High School Graduations to Impact Parking and Mobility

Three high school graduation ceremonies scheduled for Saturday, June 6, at Hofheinz Pavilion will impact parking and traffic flow around the Stadium Parking Garage, as well as nearby surface lots 12A, 12B, 15C, 16C, 16D, 16G, 16E and 18A, as commencement visitors will be using these areas to park.

UH students, faculty and staff with a valid parking permit will be allowed to park as usual that day, but should expect some delays, as visitors for the Goose Creek Consolidated ISD graduations make their way to and from campus. Several buses will also be circulating throughout the day, as they shuttle graduates to the area.

Traffic is expected to be heaviest right before and after each ceremony, with start times set for 10 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. To better accommodate graduates and visitors, Holman Street between Scott Street and Cullen Boulevard will be closed from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; however, garage parkers will be allowed through to park.

In addition to these ceremonies, the Alley Theatre, as well as the Texas Music Festival, will have performances on campus that day, so individuals planning to be in the area during this time should allow extra time for their commute.
