A&F Ambassadors Seeking Volunteers to Ride Shuttle Buses, Pitch in at Cougar Card Office

A&F Ambassadors will once again fan out across campus on the first two days of classes to serve UH students and ensure operations run smoothly.

The program, which is now in its seventh year, has always relied on the dedication and devotion of volunteers to make it a success. This year is no exception. Volunteers are needed to fill a variety of roles on Aug. 25 and 26, including:

  1. Cougar Card office helpers- The Cougar Card office on the ground floor of the Welcome Center Parking Garage is at its most busiest the first few days of school. That's when many students come in to get their official campus identification card. The lines can get long. Volunteers are needed to assist the office with the various work duties.
  2. Campus shuttle riders - Parking and Transportation Services operates the Cougar Line shuttle service. Four routes serve the campus, including the Outer Loop, Campus Loop, ERP and ERP Express. Volunteers are needed to ride the shuttles, take notes and provide feedback to the operations team.
  3. Parking garage monitors- Volunteers will be stationed outside the Welcome Center Garage directing students to park at the adjacent Welcome Center Student Garage.

"This is a great opportunity for staff to get involved and help make sure the first two days of classes on campus run smoothly," said Maria Honey, assistant director of Marketing and Communications for Auxiliary Services.
