Looking for a university with a welcoming attitude, a diverse student body, and generous transfer-credit policies? At the University of Houston, you’ll be in great company—each year, transfer students make up more than half of our entering class.
Here’s everything you need to know about making the transition to Houston, including how to apply and our admission criteria. If you have questions along the way, be sure to check our FAQs or visit the UH Transfer Center.
The Transfer Center provides in-house and external admission counseling to prospective and current students. Counselors are specifically trained to meet the needs of transfer students as they apply for admission and pursue their degree. The Transfer Center is the best place to learn more about special programs such as AAOP (Adult Admission Option Program), Academic Freshstart Program, Guaranteed Admission for AA/AS degreed students, and the awarding of military hours for credit. Transfer credit analysts are trained to evaluate external institution courses and work closely with transfer credit staff to ensure information is up to date and accurate. The Transfer Center organizes special events tailored for transfer students such as Discover UH, On-the-spot Admission events at various community colleges, and Last Call for Fall/Spring. The Transfer Center is also responsible for awarding Transfer Scholarships.
The Transfer Center is located in Room 100 of the Welcome Center, on the corner of Calhoun Road and University Drive. Contact the Transfer Center at (713) 743-1010, option 2.
