Apply as a Transfer

First, be sure to check our deadlines and requirements. Then, take a look at our Transfer Student Checklist to see a complete guide to applying to the University of Houston.  Here is a list of the major documents that every applicant will need:

  • The application. You may apply online using the Apply Texas Application.
  • The $50 application fee. Submit your application with a credit card payment or mail a check or money order to the Office of Admissions. Check or money order must be payable to: University of Houston.
  • Your college transcripts. Please send updated official transcripts from all colleges and institutions previously attended. Electronic transcripts are strongly encouraged as this helps process your transfer credit in a more expedient fashion.

  • Your test scores. If you graduated from a high school in a country where the native language is not English and you have not received an Associate's of Arts (AA) or Associate's of Science (AS) degree from a U.S. regionally accredited institution, then you will need to submit TOEFL scores.

Please note that if you’d like to apply to The Honors College, you’ll need to submit a separate Honors application as well.
