Family members and guests are welcome to attend Advising and Registration for Transfers (ART). During the conference Check-In, all guests' attendance will be confirmed, and the fee will need to be paid on-site at that time. Family members and guests are welcome at all conferences and, if attending, will follow a separate schedule of events.
Because of the nature of the program, it is not appropriate for anyone except parents/guardians or spouses to attend as a guest. Friends or siblings are not allowed to accompany you. The exception would be an older sibling who is acting in a guardian capacity; however, in this case, the sibling would attend Family Member Orientation and would not be with you during any time parents and students are not ordinarily together.
Family and Guest Schedule
Family members and guests will attend specific programs designated for them. You will not be available to family members and guests until you have completed your advisement and registration process. Family members and guests will receive an official schedule of events on the day of their conference.
All components are Family Member and Guest only, unless otherwise designated. Please click here for a sample schedule.
The Guest Fee is $40 per adult guest (18+), and it will need to be paid on-site the morning of the conference. This fee does not include housing, as no housing is provided for family members or guests during your ART. There is no fee for children under 18.
The Guest Fee preferred payment method is credit or debit card (Visa and MasterCard only). If you are unable to pay with a credit or debit card, you may pay with a check or money order. All checks and money orders must be made payable to "University of Houston." No other variations of the name should be listed. We are unable to accept cash.
We are not able to offer housing to our family members and guests. Guests accompanying you can take advantage of the Hilton University of Houston Hotel on campus for overnight accommodations or make reservations at any of the surrounding hotels in the area.
