If you’re looking for a dynamic, interactive student worker position then you should consider being an Orientation Peer Assistant (OPA)! Prospective and New Student Programs, located within the Office of Admissions, is hiring student staff assistants to serve as OPAs. This unique position will provide graduate or undergraduate students with the opportunity to work alongside full-time Academic Advisors as they assist new students with the advisement and registration process at UH. OPAs will go through general training to become proficient in university processes and rules which impact degree completion and then move on to work with full-time Academic Advisors in specific colleges to learn about the advisement and registration process. Once training is complete, our OPAs will initiate communication with new students before they arrive for their New Student Conference, helping them prepare for their on-campus experience! When the big day arrives for our new students, OPAs will meet with students in their assigned college and assist with the registration process.
