SUSPECTS IN AGGRAVATED ROBBERIES AT UH
IN CUSTODY
Two Men Currently in Harris County Jail
HOUSTON, April 12, 2004 – Two suspects in a recent series
of aggravated robberies at the University of Houston are in custody
at the Harris County Jail awaiting trial.
Patrick Foster, 19, of Houston, was arrested by a University of
Houston Police Department (UHPD) officer without incident April
1. Anthony Mareno, 19, also of Houston, turned himself in to authorities
the following day after learning an arrest warrant had been issued.
Each has been charged with aggravated robbery. Bail for Foster
has been set at $30,000. Mareno was denied bond. The men were arrested
in connection with three incidents that occurred on the UH campus
March 27 and 28 in which the perpetrators used a shotgun to rob
two students and attempted to rob a third.
Working on information provided by the victims, UHPD investigators
were able to identify the suspects and obtain arrest warrants.
