HOUSTON AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE EXAMINED
DURING UH GLOBALIZATION SYMPOSIUM
Houston’s expanding role in international trade will be the
focus of a conference sponsored by the University of Houston’s
Bauer College of Business.
The Globalization & International Trade Symposium will be held
April 15, at the University Center. The symposium will discuss international
trade issues that affect economic growth, prosperity, political
development and competitive advantages from a Houston perspective.
The event is free for UH faculty, students and staff. The public
is invited to attend. Admission is $50.
U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady, 8th District of Texas; Rob Mosbacher
Jr., Chairman, Greater Houston Partnership; Doug Baker, Deputy Assistant
Secretary of Commerce; Denis Simonneau, Consul-General of France;
and Joseph Pratt, UH’s Cullen Professor of History and Business
are among the featured presenters.
Symposium topics include elimination of trade barriers, utilization
of human capital, political economy, outsourcing, incentives for
good government, U.S. national image issues, role of multi-lateral
organizations and the global energy sector.
The conference is sponsored by the Bauer College Symposium Council.
