Who should attend: This course is open all employees (leader- and employee-level).

Prerequisites: None

How long: 1.5 hours.

E-mail presents amazing an opportunity to improve productivity and enhance our working lives. Used wisely, it’s a tremendous benefit. But used inappropriately or hastily, both legal and interpersonal issues can arise.

Following this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the benefits and consequences of using e-mail.
  • Identify their own e-mail style and how the e-mail style of others determines tone and length of messages.

  • Apply appropriate e-mail etiquette techniques while abandoning previous practices that resulted in negative outcomes.

  • Gain a greater understanding of The University of Houston e-mail policy.
