NOTES AND NEWS
 FY07 and FY08 Key Dates Calendar
The FY07 and FY08 Key Dates Calendar for UH/UHSA Departments is
posted on the
Finance website.
This calendar includes important deadlines
and reminders from July to October, so that
departments can better plan their work
during this busy time of year.
Some of the tasks planned for July include:
- College/Division Administrators verify
Finance and HR System that all of the
operators in their college/division still
need access
- Budget Office loads salary and non-salary
budgets and departments verify budgets are
correct
- Finance distributes blank certifying
signature forms to College/Division
Administrators (signed forms should be
scanned and emailed to Irma Perez at
iperez@central.uh.edu)
- Accounts Payable distributes P-Card
and Travel Card contact list (Business
Contacts) to College/Division
Administrators for their verification
- Departments can begin creating FY08
purchase requisitions (July 16)
- Deadline for submitting FY07
purchase requisitions over $25,000 to
Purchasing (July 27)

What I Like Best About My Job:
Customer / Client interaction! This is
absolutely the best part of my job because I
enjoy helping and equipping employees with
the tools necessary to become world class
leaders. The second best part of my job is
my co-workers in Human Resources. I have
been a part of this team for about a month
and I feel really good about my decision to
join the University of Houston. As a new
employee, you worry about simple things
like… Am I going to like my co-workers? Are
they going to like me? … Well let me just
