Dental Insurance
The State of Texas Dental Choice Plan-the State's indemnity plan-is administered by Government Employees Hospital Association (GEHA). You may enroll yourself and your dependents regardless of where you live. Your benefits will increase each year during your first three years of enrollment in the Dental Choice Plan. With Dental Choice, you may go to any dentist and your eligible dental work will be covered according to a payment schedule. The GEHA network, CONNECTION Dental, offers a preferred provider network option.
The Dental HMO (DMO) is administered by Aetna Dental, Inc. and is available to Individuals living or working in the Texas service area. You must select and use a primary care dentist (PCD) from a list of contracting dentists. Enter a PCD in ERS OnLine or call Aetna to select a PCD. You and your covered dependents may choose different PCDs. Your dependents do not have to live in the DMO service area to be covered. They must return to the service area and use their PCD to receive dental care, except for emergency services.
