If so, teachHOUSTON can jump-start your teaching career. If you’re interested in teaching secondary science and math, you no longer have to wait until you’re almost ready to graduate to get in front of a classroom. Because you begin teaching your first semester in the program, this also helps you decide if teaching is right for you. Modeled after a successful format at the University of Texas at Austin, teachHOUSTON is a new collaborative project of the University of Houston College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the College of Education, and local school districts
First, freshman applicants are required to meet general university freshman admission requirements . You are also urged to earn at least two units/credits in one foreign language.
Applicants are required to meet general university transfer admissions requirements .
Students graduating with the Natural Science and Mathematics Teaching Certification are offered job opportunities as teachers in public and private school systems teaching secondary math and science courses.
