Admissions

Freshman Admissions

In addition to applying to the University of Houston, all students applying for admission to the Moores School of Music must file an additional application to the college and audition.

Transfer Admissions

First, applicants are required to meet general university transfer admissions requirements. Applicants need a 2.50 GPA in all music courses earned and need to audition for the Moore's School of Music faculty on their primary instrument or voice prior to admission. Careers

A Bachelor of Music in Applied Music degree is designed to prepare students for careers in musical performance and equip them for private teaching after graduation. Many students choose to pursue graduate study. UH graduates from the Moore’s School of Music have received job offers as Band Directors, Library Specialists, Associate Choir Directors, Freelance Street Performers, Professors of Voice, Teachers, etc. More information regarding job titles, salary information of Cougar Alumni as well as national salary information can be found at Cougar Careers.
