Scholarship Information

  • University of Houston students have the opportunity to apply for financial aid for study abroad.
  • OISP is offering 2 scholarships for study abroad: IEFS, HJCC
  • Apart from IEFS & HJCC students are also eligible to apply for other scholarships from Study Abroad providers listed below. Please click here for details. Additional details about the scholarships can be found below:

International Education Fee Scholarship (IEFS):

  • All UH Students who have completed 12 Hours of course work for undergraduates with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and 9 Hours of course work for graduates with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Deadline: October 1st 2013
  • International students cannot apply for the March 1st application deadline.
  • Contact Information: Office of International Studies and Programs, 501 E.Cullen
  • Amount: Up to $500 for short term program and up to $1000 for semester program. Amount can vary depending on the number of applicants.
  • Additional Information: This scholarship is funded by $1 that students contribute when they register to UH. All UH students planning to go abroad are eligible, as well as some international students.

Houston Junior Chamber of Commerce Scholarship(HJCC):

  • All UH Students who have completed 12 Hours of course work for undergraduates with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and 9 Hours of course work for graduates with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Contact Information: Office of International Studies and Programs, 501 E.Cullen
  • Amount: Comprehensive
  • Deadline: March 1st 2014
  • Additional Information: Similar to the IEFS, HJCC scholarship is available at University of Houston System campuses. At UH, it is open to students interested in participating in affiliated studies programs through consortia organizations. Information and application forms available at OISP.
