Robert Zaretsky is an historian of modern France and teaches in The Human Situation sequence. He has published two books: Cock and Bull Stories: Folco de Baroncelli and the Invention of the Camargue and Nimes at War: Religion, Politics, and Public Opinion in the Gard, 1938-1944. He is the co-editor of Vichy at War: Vichy France and the Historians. He completing, with John T. Scott, a history of the friendship between Jean-Jacques Rousseau and David Hume.
