Richard H. Armstrong is Associate Professor of Classical Studies in the Department of Modern and Classical Languages, and a Fellow in the Honors College. He publishes on the reception of ancient culture in later times, translation studies, and the history of psychoanalysis. His latest book is A Compulsion for Antiquity: Freud and the Ancient World (Cornell UP, 2006). His courses include "Roman, Jew, and Christian," "The Roman Republic," and "Epic Masculinity"--all available for petitioned Honors credit. B.A, University of Chicago; M. Phil. and Ph.
