Overview
The School of Theatre and Dance offers the
Bachelor of Arts in theatre, a minor in dance, and teacher certification
in dance.
Bachelor of Arts
Students majoring in theatre or dance must complete the university core requirements, the CLASS college requirements, and elect to follow one of the three tracks:

Transfer students must consult with the School of Theatre and Dance advisor concerning THEA 1111/1112
requirements and transfer credits.
All students in the School of Theatre and Dance are expected to meet high standards of work and discipline. To strengthen the quality of education for those who meet and exceed these standards, those who fail to maintain these standards will not be permitted to continue in the program.
To satisfy prerequisite and degree requirement, students must earn a minimum C (2.00) grade in each course in theatre and dance (both required and elective) attempted at the University of Houston.
Students must also maintain a minimum cumulative B- (2.67) grade point average in all courses in theatre and dance (both required and elective) attempted at the University of Houston.
Performance Track Requirements
The performance track requires 63 hours in THEA courses, of which 27 must be advanced.
THEA 1111:1112. Six semester hours Production (Two roles in mainstage or faculty approved productions may count toward one semester of credit for THEA 1111:1112: requirement.)
