ELED 3320: Survey of Children's Literature
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: sophomore standing. Reading and evaluation of books, guidance of reading interests, and teaching literature in the elementary school.
ELED 3322: Reading Instruction for Young Children, Ages 3-8
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: CUIN 3318. Methods and materials for pre-reading and beginning reading instruction.
ELED 4307: Methods of Teaching Art in the Elementary School
Cr. 3. (3-9). Prerequisite: admission to Professional Development Sequence. Field-based course that introduces the curriculum planning and organization, instructional methods, and management strategies for teaching art in the elementary school.
ELED 4308: Methods of Teaching Physical Education in the Elementary School
Cr. 3. (3-9). Prerequisite: admission to Professional Development Sequence, for majors in kinesiology. Field-based course that introduces the instructional methods and management strategies for teaching physical education in the elementary school.
ELED 4310: Reading in the Elementary School
Cr. 3. (3-9). Prerequisites: six semester hours of sophomore level English and admission to professional development sequence. Field-based course that introduces the techniques and materials for teaching reading and language arts in the elementary school.
ELED 4312: Science in the Elementary School
Cr. 3. (3-9). Prerequisites: six hours of laboratory science courses and admission to Professional Development Sequence. Field-based course that introduces the curriculum, concepts, methods, and materials for teaching science in the elementary school.
ELED 4315: Mathematics in the Elementary School
Cr. 3. (3-9). Prerequisites: MATH 2303 and admission to Professional Development Sequence. Field-based course that introduces the curriculum, methods, and materials for teaching mathematics in the elementary school.
ELED 4320: Social Studies in the Elementary School
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: admission to Professional Development Sequence. Field-based course that introduces the contemporary structure of social studies programs; social science backgrounds: inquiry processes; cognitive, affective; teaching strategies.
