Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ENGL 1304 or equivalent. Historical, sociocultural and political aspects. Current issues in education, popular culture, and family.
CUST 3310: Asian American Communities in Popular Culture
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: CUST 2300 or ANTH 2302 or consent of instructor. An interdisciplinary approach analyzing the social and political implications in the representation of Asian American through film, newspapers, and other media. Emphasis on concrete applications of theoretical models from the social and human services.
CUST 3315: Asian American Experiences of Migration and Transnationalism
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: CUST 2300 or ANTH 2302 or consent of instructor. Various aspects of migration, including adaptation, community formation, activism, and transitional links. Emphasis on the strategies and interactions in the shaping of U.S. society.
CUST 3320: Multicultural Environments in Urban Setting

Cr. 3. (3-9). Field-based experiences with children in multicultural schools and communities. Community involvement project required.
CUST 3390: Vietnamese American History
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ENGL 1304. Analysis of the history, settlement issues, and contributions of Vietnamese Americans in the United States.
CUST 4300: Asian American Cultures
Cr. 3. (3-0). Synthesis of major themes relating to the nature, formation, and development of Asian American cultures within the U.S.
CUST 4320: Asian American Literature & Identity Issues
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: CUST 2300. Role of gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, and other issues. Asian American identity as portrayed through influential literary works. Emphasis on cultural and literary theory and applications, and on generativity of cultural expressions.
CUST 4321: Vietnamese American Community and its Culture
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ENGL 1304. Analysis of Vietnamese culture, thought and religion, and their implications for the building and empowerment of the Vietnamese American community in the United States.
