The Department of Management (MANA)
offers a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in management. This major is excellent preparation for students who wish to pursue graduate studies in administrative sciences or are interested in general management and management trainee positions. Elective courses in leadership, human resource management and strategic management are available to those interested in these specialized areas.
This major focuses on the behavior of individuals and groups within formal organizations, with particular emphasis upon the application of theory and research to management practice. Topics receiving primary emphasis include leadership and motivation, decision making, the adaptation of organizations to their environment, and the effective use of human resources.
Business majors must meet the business, nonbusiness, and elective requirements for a baccalaureate degree as well as the following for a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in management:
Management majors may pursue a track in leadership or in human resource management.
Management majors interested in course work related to human resource management may pursue a Human Resource Management track by meeting the following requirements within the management major:
