ITEC 1300: Computers in Technology (formerly TECH 1300)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: MATH 1310. Introduction to computers and their application to various technologies. Hardware, software, number systems, basic computer organization, and structured programming

ITEC 1301: Introduction to Computer Application Technology (formerly OCTE 1301)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: credit for or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 1303 and MATH 1310 or equivalents. Introduction to computer and information technologies and their application in the workplace.

ITEC 2332: Information Technology Hardware and Systems Software
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ITEC 1301. A conceptual and technological survey of the structure of distributed information systems architectures, operating systems, network operating systems, data management systems, application development environments, peripheral technology, and user interfaces.

ITEC 2334: Information Systems Applications
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ITEC 1301 or ELET 2300 or equivalent. Concepts and production skills relating to information systems technologies, procedures, and resources.

ITEC 2336: Internet Application Development
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: COSC 1304 and credit for or concurrent enrollment in MATH 1431. Internet and World Wide Web technologies. Development and maintenance of Web sites and Web applications.

ITEC 2337: Fundamentals of Information Security
Cr. 3. (3-0). Fundamental principles of information security, including technical security issues, people security issues, policy issues, privacy, and ethics.

ITEC 2338: Technology in the Community (formerly OCTE 2338)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ITEC 2334 and credit for or concurrent enrollment in ITEC 2336 or at least 6 hours in major for noninformation systems technology majors. Introduction to project management in technology-intensive workplaces. Hands-on experience in project management through service to technologically underserved communities.

ITEC 2348: Information Systems Application Development
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: COSC 1304 and credit for or concurrent enrollment in MATH 1431. Development of information systems applications using modern application development technologies.

ITEC 3325: Survey of Information Technology Applications
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ITEC 1301. May not apply toward a major in information systems technology. Business information systems, data analysis, database concepts, applications, business intelligence, and data management: warehousing, analyzing, mining, and visualization.

ITEC 3337: Secure Application Design
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ITEC 2337, 2348, and Computer Information Systmes major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Designing applications using a secure design life cycle process, including common causes of errors and current tools ot improve code.

ITEC 3343: Information Systems Analysis and Design
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ITEC 2334 and credit for or concurrent enrollment in TMTH 3360. Development and evaluation of information systems with relation to efficiency and cost. Case study approach.

ITEC 3347: Principles of Information Management
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ITEC 2332, credit for or concurrent enrollment in TMTH 3360, and Computer Information Systmes major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Principles, application, and administration of information systems.

ITEC 3348: Applications of Expert Systems (formerly OCTE 3348)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: credit for or concurrent enrollment in ITEC 3347. Expert systems concepts, characteristics, applications, and tools.

ITEC 3351: Intrusion Detection and Incident Response
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ITEC 2337 and Computer Information Systems major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Intrusion detection and incident response for enterprise level computer systems, including technical, policy, and legal issues.

ITEC 3355: Integrated Information Systems (formerly ITEC 4335)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ITEC 3347 and Computer Information Systems major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Evaluation of integrated information systems.

ITEC 3358: Information Media for Organizations
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ITEC 2332 or 2334 or 2337. Use of Web-based tools and technologies for information sharing and management within and across organizations.

ITEC 3365: Database Management
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: ITEC 3343. Applications of hierarchical and relational database systems.

ITEC 3368: Advanced Internet Application Development (formerly OCTE 3368)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: credit for or concurrent enrollment in ITEC 3365. Use of Web development tools for Web site development. Architectural planning, technology selection, and Web site programming tasks. Internet applications using COM components on both the client and server.

ITEC 3399:4399: Senior Honors Thesis (formerly OCTE 3399:4399)
Cr. 3 per semester. Prerequisite: approval of department chair. Independent work in information systems technology under the supervision of a faculty member. Both must be completed for credit.

Cr. 1, 2 per semester. Prerequisite: approval of department chair. Individual projects under faculty sponsorship.

ITEC 4335: Secure Enterprise Design
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ITEC 2337, 3365, and Computer Information Systems major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Principles used to secure enterprise level IT systems. Data handling, encryption, and legal issues.

ITEC 4337: Advanced Information Systems Applications (formerly OCTE 4337)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ITEC 3348 and 3365, information systems technology major or minor, and senior standing. Advanced concepts and computer-based applications integral to office information systems.

ITEC 4338: Database Administration and Implementation
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ITEC 3355, 3365 and Computer Information Systems major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Database implementation for a multi-user environment, including usage analysis, database application development, and query optimization.

ITEC 4339: Enterprise Applications Development
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ITEC 2336, 2348, credit for or concurrent enrollment in ITEC 4338, and Computer Information Systems major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Advanced n-tier client/server application development for an enterprise-wide setting.

ITEC 4355: Enterprise Assessment and Evaluation
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ITEC 2337, credit for or concurrent enrollment in ITEC 3355 and Computer Information Systems major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Information assurance enterprise assessment and evaluation principles, practices, methods, and experiences.

ITEC 4357: Digital Forensics
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ITEC 2337, 3365, and Computer Information Systems major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Digital forensics, including media analysis, data reconstruction, network forensics, and the legal issues surrounding the use of forensic data.

ITEC 4375: Project Management & Practice
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: ITEC 4338, 4339, and Computer Information Systems major or minor, or consent of program manager or program coordinator. Directed individual study in information systems technology. Instructor-led discussion of research methods and class presentations by students.

ITEC 4390: Current Issues in Information Systems (formerly OCTE 4390)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisites: information systems technology major or minor and senior standing. Current issues and topics in information systems.

ITEC 4396: Internship: Occupational Technology (formerly OCTE 4396)
Cr. 3. Prerequisite: consent of instructor.

ITEC 4397: Selected Topics in Information Systems Technology (formerly OCTE 4397)
Cr. 3. (3-0). Prerequisite: approval of department chair. May be repeated for credit when topics vary.
