Payment and Refund Deadlines

Timing is critical to University payment and refund processes. Please review the information on line at: Student Financial Services.

NOTE:
Dates for the events listed to the right vary by College. Please check with your College as early as possible.

1. Master's / Doctoral Deadlines
   • submitting final draft of master's thesis or dissertation to the committee
   • submitting signed original and two copies of approved master’s thesis or dissertation for binding
   • ordering caps and gowns
2. Commencement / Convocation

Friday
Beginning of regular filing period to apply online for graduation - non-refundable $25 fee. Regular Filing period runs from Friday, April 15, 2011 through Friday, July 1, 2011. Go to myUH (Peoplesoft) to apply.

May
2011

Monday
Memorial Day Holiday.

Tuesday
First day of classes.
In general, during Summer Session 3, 2011, classes meet either Mondays and Wednesdays, plus Fridays (June 3 and June 10), or Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Wednesday
Last day to add a class.

Friday
ORD - Official Reporting Day
(12th/4th class day).

Last day to drop a course or withdraw without receiving a grade.

Last day to drop a course without hours counting towards the Enrollment Cap for Texas Residents.
NOTE: Tuition is higher for hours in excess of the cap.

July
2011

Friday
End of regular filing period to apply online for graduation with non-refundable $25 fee.

Saturday
Beginning of late filing period to apply online for graduation - non-refundable $50 fee. Late Filing period runs from Saturday, July 2, 2011 through Friday, July 15, 2011. Go to myUH (Peoplesoft) to apply.

Monday
Independence Day holiday.

Thursday
Last day to drop a course or withdraw with a 'W'.

Friday
End of late filing period to apply online for graduation with non-refundable $50 fee.

Tuesday
Last day of class.

Wednesday - Friday
Final examination period.
