The Department of Modern and Classical Languages offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese Studies, Classical Studies, French, German, German Area Studies, and Italian Studies.
Minor programs include Chinese, French, French for Business-Related Professions, German, German Area Studies, Greek, Italian, Latin, Russian, and World Cultures and Literature. Requirements for minors precede the listing of courses.
Teacher certification for secondary education is available in French, German, Latin, and Italian studies.
Majors in French and German must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.50 grade point average in all courses attempted in the major and must demonstrate or attain at least 2302 (fourth semester) level proficiency in a second foreign language.
