For Summer 2009 - "Six Week—1st" (formerly known as Summer I):
Friday June 19th became a class day; Last day of classes became June 30th (had been July 1st); Exams period became July 1st and 2nd (had been 2nd-3rd); Official close of semester became July 2nd (had been July 3rd).

 Pertaining to the Academic Calendar -
For Spring 2009:
Last day to add a class was changed from "Jan 24th,  2009" to 26th; the designation "6th class day" was added to Jan 26th,  2009.

Pertaining to the Academic Regulations and Degree Requirements section of the undergraduate catalog -
An obsolete statement on Reinstatement was removed from the end of the section on Dropping Courses.

The removed statement read as follows:

"Reinstatement
Students who are dropped by the instructor or who drop a course may, if extraordinary circumstances prevail, be reinstated by securing written permission from the instructor. The prescribed forms may be obtained in the Registrar's Office, 128 Welcome Center."
