Ramsey, Ph.D., Southern Illinois University The College of Education is committed to the preparation of teachers, counselors, school and higher education administrators, and professionals for a wide variety of educational settings, including social agencies, business, and government. The College of Education is accredited by the State Board for Educator Certification
and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education
and is a member of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher
Education. Departments Each of the four departments of the college focuses on a specific aspect of professional education. The major entitled Interdisciplinary Studies is housed within the Curriculum and Instruction department; two majors, Health and Kinesiology, are housed in the Health and Human Performance department.
