Monica McHenry received her Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Washington. She came to the University of Houston after having a position at a head trauma rehabilitation facility that combined her research and clinical interests in motor speech disorders. Dr. McHenry is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Dr. McHenry’s current research is focused in two areas, the impact of physiology and perception on speaker intelligibility, and care of the occupational voice.
