IBL@TcSUH

The Ion Beam Laboratory at the University of Houston was established in 1992 as a core facility at Texas Center for Superconductivity Institute. The discovery of high temperature superconductor YBCO material (TcSUH) led to many interesting applications, in hand ion beam techniques provided unique analysis methods to characterize YBCO. In addition, ion beam implantation provided ways to incorporate foreign elements into YBCO in controlled quantities. Over the years IBL@TcSUH has expanded into other materials characterization and modifications (IBL@TcSUH research).

 

Mission of the IBL@TcSUH is to develop and refine ion beam techniques for materials characterization and to study ion beam modification of materials for various applications. For further information regarding collaborations please contact Prof. Wei-Kan Chu.
